Bolton Market Place, Grade II listed building in Bolton, England

The Bolton Market Place spans across Bridge Street, Corporation Street, and Knowsley Street, featuring stone facades and a cast iron glass roof.

Architect G.T. Robinson designed the market hall, which opened in December 1855 with a construction cost of £50,000 and covered 7000 square yards.

The market hall evolved from a traditional produce market into a modern shopping center while maintaining its status as a community gathering space.

The Market Place Shopping Centre underwent renovations in 2007 to restore original features while adapting the space for contemporary retail purposes.

The cast iron and glass roof structure rises 112 feet with semi-circular arches, supported by columns and features a hanging cast-iron lantern.
