Barra Hall Park

Barra Hall Park is a 27-acre municipal park featuring open lawns, rose gardens with seasonal blooms, sports areas, and mature trees scattered throughout. The grounds include a children's playground, outdoor fitness equipment, a bandstand, and an open-air theatre for performances and events.

The park developed around Barra Hall, a Grade II listed manor house built in the 18th century, which the town council purchased in 1923. This acquisition allowed Hayes to transform the estate into a public gathering space as the town expanded.

The park hosts Hayes town's annual carnival each July, drawing the community together with a fête and funfair that has brought people together for generations. This celebration remains central to how residents mark the year and connect with their neighborhood.

The park is accessible on foot and offers free areas for relaxation as well as marked walking paths throughout. Check ahead if you plan to attend events, as the theatre and bandstand host activities seasonally or on weekends.

The grounds feature an unusual tree sculpture titled 'Man looking for his dog' that visitors can spot while exploring the park. Beyond this, the location served as a filming site for the popular sports film 'Bend It Like Beckham'.
