Burnley Mechanics

Burnley Mechanics is a theatre building with a main auditorium seating approximately 495 people, along with two additional performance spaces called The Front Room and The Loft. The building also contains a bistro where visitors can eat and drink before or after shows.

The building was constructed in 1855 and represents an important example of theatre architecture from that period. Its historical importance was recognized through Grade II* listed status, which confirms its architectural quality.

The theatre serves as a gathering place for local performance groups and regional artists who shape the cultural life of the town through regular shows. Visitors experience a diverse programme that ranges from amateur productions to well-known touring shows.
