Carberry Tower

Carberry Tower is a fortified mansion set on a private estate in East Lothian, spreading across extensive grounds with mature trees and landscaped ponds. The building combines medieval structures with later additions and now functions as a hotel offering multiple accommodation options.

The first fortification at this site was built in the 1480s, when the foundation stone for the current structure was laid. The location became closely tied to a turning point in Scottish history when major political conflicts reached their conclusion there.

The name comes from a hill where momentous events in Scottish history unfolded. Today, the place maintains this connection to Scotland's past through how it welcomes visitors.

The grounds sit roughly 10 kilometers from Edinburgh and are reached via well-maintained access roads. An on-site restaurant and various room facilities make a full day visit straightforward and comfortable.

The grounds hold a collection of large trees planted since the 1800s, with some rare species among them. These trees form part of Britain's botanical heritage and continue to shape the character of the property.
