Bwrdd Arthur, Ancient hillfort and summit in Llanddona, Wales.

Bwrdd Arthur is a flat-topped hill in Wales that rises to 164 meters and offers views across the Menai Strait, beaches, and islands. The summit is now an open grassland with visible stones around its perimeter that mark where ancient defensive walls once stood.

This location began as a fortified hilltop whose defensive walls were documented by archaeologists in 1869. The remaining stones around the perimeter show that this strategic position held importance for a considerable period in the past.

The site takes its name from Welsh mythology, connecting it to legendary stories that remain part of local identity. Today the location functions as open grassland where visitors can experience how such places were woven into the cultural memory of the region.

You can reach the site by parking near a local chapel and following the marked paths that lead up the hill. Standard navigation maps help with orientation, making the route straightforward for most visitors.

Inside the fortified area grows a meadow filled with flowers that attracts various butterfly species throughout the season. This flowering grassland hides ancient stone structures beneath its surface, showing how nature has reclaimed the historic site over time.
