Church of St John the Baptist, Outwood, Victorian church in Outwood, England
The brick structure features a stuccoed tower, knapped stone exterior walls, and lancet windows characteristic of Anglo-Norman architectural design throughout the building.
William Burges designed this Grade II listed religious building in 1869, with W.P. Manning completing the tower construction seven years later in 1876.
The church houses four bells that ring regularly on Monday evenings, maintaining a traditional practice that connects the local community through sound.
The church received £140,300 from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2018 to repair external stonework, guttering, and various structural elements of the building.
The religious structure stands on National Trust land, surrounded by dense woodland, farmland, and meadows on three sides of its perimeter.
