Craigkelly transmitting station is a television broadcast facility located on a hillside north of the Firth of Forth near Burntisland. The station transmits signals across central Scotland to homes in the surrounding region.
The station opened in 1968 to improve BBC2 coverage in Edinburgh. Its transmission tower was moved from Emley Moor in West Yorkshire.
The transmitter delivers multiple television channels to 430,000 households, connecting communities through shared media experiences across the region.
The hilltop location offers a vantage point to view the tower from a distance across the surrounding landscape. Visitors should note that the facility sits on private land and close access is not permitted.
