Dales Countryside Museum, Local museum in Hawes, England
The Dales Countryside Museum occupies a converted railway station building, featuring galleries that display the heritage of Yorkshire Dales through objects and exhibits.
The museum originated in 1941 from a collection of artifacts gathered by Marie Hartley, Ella Pontefract, and Joan Ingilby documenting Yorkshire Dales life.
The exhibition spaces present detailed information about farming practices, traditional crafts, industries, and daily routines of Yorkshire Dales inhabitants across generations.
The museum opens from February through December, with operating hours from 10 AM to 5 PM, and includes a tourist information center and cafe.
A steam locomotive numbered 67345 stands on the original track bed, marking the final passenger train that departed from Hawes station in 1959.
