Derby Gaol, Former prison complex in Derby, England
Derby Gaol is a former prison complex with two distinct sections representing different construction periods. The older part contains preserved cells from the 1700s, while the newer section maintains its original facade from the 1800s.
The site was established as a prison facility at Friar Gate and later expanded to meet growing needs. The structure shows the evolution of English penal practice from the late 1700s into the 1800s.
