The Dogdyke Engine features a 16-foot flywheel, a 24-inch diameter cylinder, and operates through a gearbox connected to a 24-foot scoop wheel.
Built in 1856, this rotative beam engine replaced earlier windmill engines from 1540, managing drainage between the rivers Bain and Witham.
The station houses both a Bradley and Craven Beam engine from 1856 and Ruston & Hornsby diesel engines from 1940, representing industrial engineering evolution.
The Dogdyke Pumping Station Preservation Trust maintains the facility and organizes demonstrations of the engines throughout the summer months.
The Lancashire boiler, installed in 1909, operated at 15 pounds per square inch and continues functioning with modern modifications for current operations.
