Dome Cinema, Historic movie theater in Worthing, England
The Dome Cinema features three screening rooms within a Neo-Classical building design, adorned with period architectural details at Marine Parade in Worthing.
Originally named Kursaal when it opened in 1911, the cinema changed its name to The Dome during World War I following a public competition with a cash prize.
The cinema maintains its traditional seating arrangement and screens a mix of contemporary releases alongside classic films in its restored auditoriums.
The main auditorium contains 580 seats, while two additional screens offer 118 and 40 seats respectively, allowing for multiple film showings throughout the day.
The building initially served multiple purposes, including a roller skating rink and an upstairs cinema called the Electric Theatre, the first paid-admission cinema in West Sussex.
