Dundas Castle, Tower house in Dalmeny, Scotland
The Dundas Castle features Gothic revival architecture with a prominent tower structure, large windows overlooking lawns, and detailed stone decorative elements throughout the building.
The original structure dates to 1416 when James Dundas received a license from the Duke of Albany to construct a keep, later expanded in 1436.
The castle grounds contain carefully maintained gardens registered in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, representing Scottish landscape heritage.
The castle functions as a private events venue, accommodating weddings and corporate functions while maintaining its status as a category A listed building.
Oliver Cromwell resided at the castle during the Battle of Dunbar in 1650, with a statue commemorating his presence still standing outside the keep.
