Fairwood Common

Fairwood Common is a large open area in the central Gower Peninsula with grasslands, walking trails, and a golf course. The land accommodates both outdoor recreation and traditional agricultural use.

The area gained military importance during World War II when the Royal Air Force established an airfield here. This facility eventually developed into Swansea Airport, reshaping how the land is used today.
