Sketty Hall, Grade II listed building in Sketty, United Kingdom
Sketty Hall is a three-story listed building situated within Singleton Park featuring distinctive bay windows and decorative parapet details along its south elevation. The structure showcases classical proportions with period architectural elements typical of its construction era.
The building was constructed in the 1720s by Rawleigh Dawkin and underwent significant modifications in 1780. A third story was added during the 1820s, establishing the structure in its current three-level form.
Sketty Hall Business School delivers professional education courses in accountancy, leadership, digital skills, and management through Gower College Swansea's industry experts.
The hall currently operates as a business school during weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM with contemporary teaching facilities throughout. A coffee bar on site provides refreshment options for those spending time in the building.
During the Second World War the building served as the headquarters for Air Raid Precautions operations and played a key role in local civil defense. After the war it was converted into a research facility for iron and steel studies, representing a dramatic shift from its wartime purpose to a completely different function.
