Cannonball Express, Steel roller coaster at Pleasurewood Hills, Suffolk, England
Cannonball Express is a steel roller coaster at Pleasurewood Hills in Suffolk featuring a compact figure-eight layout with red track and supports. The ride climbs to 16 meters and spans 529 meters of track while carrying eight riders per train.
Built by Schwarzkopf in 1983 for a German traveling fair, the coaster moved through several locations before arriving at Pleasurewood Hills in 1995. It has remained at the park ever since.
The mine train theme shapes how visitors experience the ride, connecting to broader stories about British amusement parks and their industrial inspirations. This thematic choice gives the coaster a particular character within the park.
The ride lasts about two minutes and reaches speeds up to 54 kilometers per hour during the journey. Keep an eye on queue times during peak hours if you want to experience it with shorter waits.
This is the only Schwarzkopf Jumbo V model ever built, making it a rare example of 1980s German engineering. Its singular status draws attention from enthusiasts interested in the history of ride design and construction.
