Five Ways Tower, Commercial high-rise building in Birmingham, United Kingdom
Five Ways Tower was a commercial high-rise building in Birmingham with 23 floors and a height of 76 meters, constructed with steel, concrete, brick, and glass elements. The structure provided substantial office space and included parking facilities for vehicles.
The building was completed in 1979 and initially served as office space in Birmingham's commercial district. Tenants vacated in 2005 due to ventilation problems, and after remaining empty for years, it was demolished in 2024.
The tower represents Birmingham's late 1970s commercial architecture period, designed by Philip Bright of the Property Services Agency.
The building stood at the Five Ways intersection, a busy traffic hub in the city center. The site remains accessible for visitors interested in seeing where the former tower once occupied the Birmingham skyline.
The building, standing empty since 2005, underwent demolition in 2024 following years of degradation and unsuccessful attempts at hotel conversion.
