Fa'side Castle, Medieval castle in East Lothian, Scotland.

The fortified stone structure stands on elevated ground near Tranent, featuring thick defensive walls and a commanding tower with panoramic countryside views.

Built in the late 14th century, the castle served as a residence for the Fawside family and played a strategic role during the Wars of Scottish Independence.

Mary Queen of Scots departed from this castle on June 15, 1567, changing into simple clothes before heading to the Battle of Carberry Hill.

The castle functions as a bed and breakfast establishment with five bedrooms, while additional accommodations are available in the nearby tower and cottages.

An oak bed crafted for Margaret Fawside, who married Patrick Levingstone, remains preserved at the Biggar Museum as a testament to the castle's heritage.
