Hearsall Common, Public park in Earlsdon, Coventry, England
Hearsall Common features extensive grassy areas with footpaths, a tarmac section, and a wooded nature reserve spanning multiple acres.
The 1927 Coventry Corporation Act transformed this fifteenth-century grazing land into a designated recreation ground for public use.
The common hosts community gatherings, including the Earlsdon Festival, which relocated from its traditional location on Earlsdon Street.
The park includes a 2600-meter trail system through grass and footpaths, with distance markers and navigation signs throughout the grounds.
Frank Whittle developed his interest in aviation after observing an aircraft landing on Hearsall Common in 1916, leading to his jet engine invention.
