Lindley Hall, Convention center in Westminster, United Kingdom
Lindley Hall is a convention venue in Westminster featuring a distinctive glass-vaulted ceiling that spans the main hall and allows natural light throughout. The interior is air-conditioned and designed to accommodate different types of events and gatherings.
This red brick building with stone details was designed by architect Edwin J Stebbs and opened in 1904 with a ceremony led by King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The structure represented a new kind of public assembly venue for the early 20th century.
The venue once hosted the All England Open Badminton Championships and later became known as a filming location for the BBC television program Question Time. These uses show how the space adapted to serve different kinds of public events over time.
The venue can be arranged for standing receptions, seated dining, or theater-style seating and provides wheelchair access throughout. Visitors should be aware that the layout and central London location may affect how easily you can move around the space.
The building took on an unexpected role as a vaccination center during 2021, showing its capacity to serve urgent community needs quickly. This period demonstrated how traditional venues can be repurposed when circumstances demand it.
