Junction Mill is a cotton spinning factory located beside the Rochdale Canal, designed by architect Edward Potts with engineering brick and terracotta details. The building contained around 73,000 spindles and was powered by a large engine that drove the production work.
The Junction Spinning Company founded the mill in 1874 as textile manufacturing expanded across the region. During the 1930s, it merged into a larger corporation that controlled multiple factories in Lancashire.
