The villa evolved from wooden buildings in 90 AD to stone structures over 250 years, with evidence of earlier Iron Age settlements and military presence.
Artifacts found at the site include pottery, metalwork, and tiles stamped with names of probable owners Tiberius Claudius Verus and Tiberius Claudius Severus.
The Upper Nene Archaeological Society conducts excavations during Easter and summer weekends, with findings displayed in a converted Wesleyan chapel museum.
A substantial well over 2 meters wide reveals information about water management systems used by Romans in rural British settlements.
