MacLellan's Castle

MacLellan's Castle is a fortified residence in Kirkcudbright with an L-shaped structure and thick stone walls rising several stories. The design combines defensive features with living quarters, showing windows and entrances arranged for different purposes.

Sir Thomas MacLellan built this fortress in 1582 on land that once held a monastery. The construction marked the transformation of a religious site into a private family stronghold.
