Lloyd George Museum

Lloyd George Museum is a local authority museum in Llanystumdwy dedicated to the political career of David Lloyd George. The building, designed by Clough Williams-Ellis, displays photographs, personal belongings, and important historical documents from his life.

The museum opened in 1960 to preserve the life and career of David Lloyd George. Following major renovations, it reopened in 1990 with an expanded collection of his personal and political artifacts.

The place bears a Welsh name reflecting the village where Lloyd George spent his formative years. The collection demonstrates how his roots in this rural region shaped his early identity.

The museum is accessible from Easter through October with regular opening hours for independent visitors. Advance arrangements can be made for group visits with guided interpretation.

Among the rare objects is a policeman's helmet that Lloyd George wore while escaping from an angry crowd in Birmingham in 1901. The collection also holds a silver model of nearby Cricieth Castle.
