The land belonged to Daws Farm until 1923 when Hendon Urban District Council purchased it and opened the space as a public park in 1924.
The park maintains a community forest nature reserve established in 1993, supporting local wildlife and providing environmental education opportunities for residents.
Visitors can access multiple facilities including tennis courts, bowling greens, football fields, basketball areas, a cricket pitch, and children's playgrounds across the grounds.
The park received the Green Flag Award for maintaining high standards in park management while incorporating both formal gardens and natural woodland areas.
