Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, Grade I listed park and garden in Maker-with-Rame, England.
Mount Edgcumbe Country Park covers about 885 acres on the Rame Peninsula, combining formal gardens, woodlands, and walking paths along the coast. The grounds offer views overlooking Plymouth Sound and link different natural and designed areas together.
The estate began in the 16th century when the Edgcumbe family founded it and built a Tudor house. During the 18th century, the gardens were greatly expanded and reshaped.
The park displays gardens in Italian, French, and English styles arranged side by side, each showing different design traditions. Walking through them, you can observe how each style shapes the layout and plant choices in distinct ways.
The park is open daily from morning until dusk with no admission charge. Multiple walking trails connect all areas and lead to nearby coastal villages.
The grounds contain a Bronze Age burial mound dating to around 1200 BC. The Edgcumbe family later converted this ancient mound into an 18th-century viewpoint.
