Mynyddbach Chapel, Independent chapel in Treboeth, Wales
Mynyddbach Chapel stands on elevated ground with stone walls and spacious grounds containing numerous gravestones from different historical periods.
The chapel originated in 1640 when a group gathered at Cilfwnwr farmhouse near Llangyfelach, leading to the construction of the current building in 1867.
The chapel holds the remains of Daniel James, writer of the Welsh hymn Calon Lân, and maintains a dedicated center presenting his life story.
The facility includes renovated school rooms, new parking spaces, modernized toilets, and serves as a rehearsal venue for multiple musical groups.
The chapel required construction five miles outside Swansea town boundaries due to historical restrictions on nonconformist religious establishments.
