North Wirral Coastal Park extends along four miles of coastline between Dove Point at Meols and Kings Parade at New Brighton, covering 200 acres.
The area contains archaeological evidence from 5000 years ago, including a submerged forest discovered at Dove Point in Meols, indicating prehistoric woodland.
The Metropolitan Borough of Wirral ranger service manages educational programs and guided tours from their base at Leasowe Lighthouse throughout the park.
Visitors can access multiple recreational facilities for cycling, walking, horse riding, and bird watching across designated trails within the protected area.
The park supports substantial populations of eight wading bird species, including Eurasian oystercatchers, common redshanks, dunlins, and northern lapwings.
