Owens Park, Student residence tower in Fallowfield, Manchester, England.
Owens Park is a student residence tower in Fallowfield, Manchester, consisting of five separate blocks named Tower, Tree Court, Green Court, Little Court, and Mall arranged around central courtyards. The complex includes residential rooms, computer facilities, and catered dining areas serving around 1,000 students.
Building Design Partnership designed the complex and completed the first phase of construction in 1964, creating accommodation for over 1,000 students at the University of Manchester. The site continued to develop in subsequent years to meet growing student needs.
The entertainment block hosted student events and gatherings throughout its operational years. The Chemical Brothers performed their first show in the tower ballroom during the 1990s, making it a notable venue in the local music scene.
The complex is located in a student-focused area with good connections to the university and city center. Keep in mind this is an active student residence, so respectful behavior toward residents and shared spaces is important.
A fibreglass relief sculpture named Cosmos I sits at the tower's base, created by artist Mitzi Cunliffe. She also designed the iconic BAFTA award mask, linking this place to broader artistic achievement.
