Dalton-Ellis Hall, Grade II listed university building in Victoria Park, Manchester, England.
Dalton-Ellis Hall is a university residence complex in Victoria Park made of red brick with large windows and ornamental stonework across its buildings. The site contains multiple residential blocks alongside shared spaces designed for student life and social activities.
The complex came together in 1987 from the merger of Dalton Hall, founded by Quakers in 1876, and Ellis Llwyd Jones Hall established in 1919. This joining of two long-standing institutions created the residence as it exists today.
The residence maintains traditional academic living arrangements with 279 students sharing meals in a dining hall and participating in various sports activities.
The grounds are accessible for exploration and feature outdoor courts and indoor recreational facilities. Visiting is best outside exam periods when the residence is most active with student life.
The complex includes Eaglesfield, a preserved Victorian house acquired in 1892 that expanded residential space when it was integrated into the main structure. This retained building shows how older private homes became part of university accommodation.
