Whitworth Park, Public park in Rusholme, England

Whitworth Park spans twenty acres alongside Oxford Road, featuring meandering walkways, green spaces, and recreational areas between Denmark Road and Moss Lane East.

The land transformed from Potters Fields into Whitworth Park in 1894 through Robert Darbishire's purchase using funds from Sir Joseph Whitworth's legacy.

The park includes a statue of King Edward VII, created by John Cassidy in 1913, representing the connection between public spaces and royal commemorations.

Multiple entrances at Dickenson Road and Brisbane Grove provide access to various sections of the park, connecting different neighborhoods of Manchester.

The Auxetophone demonstration in 1912 drew large gatherings to the park, marking an early experiment with outdoor sound amplification technology.
