The Sheffield United Gas Light Company Offices building features classical Italian villa architecture with a main entrance on Commercial Street and additional frontage on Shude Hill.
Built in 1874 by M.E. Hadfield & Son, the structure served as headquarters for Sheffield United Gas Light Company until 1972, when it became available for sale.
The interior contains detailed design elements including a glazed dome by J.F. Bentley, carvings by Thomas Earp, and decorative ceilings by Hugh Stannus.
The building now operates as Canada House, with upper floors dedicated to office spaces and plans for conversion into Harmony Works music teaching center.
The structure maintains its original name Panache House carved above the main entrance, despite subsequent changes to Canada House and other designations.
