St Ceinwen's Church, Cerrigceinwen, Medieval church in Llangristiolus, Wales

St Ceinwen's Church is a church building in Llangristiolus, Wales, displaying English Gothic architecture with a nave and chancel constructed from rubble stone and dressed freestone. The structure stands at approximately 61 meters elevation with surrounding land attached to the property.

The site was originally founded around 450 AD, with the current structure rebuilt during the 1800s. Architects Henry Kennedy and Frederick Rogers oversaw the major renovation that shaped the building as it stands today.

The church holds a circular stone font from the 12th century with detailed carvings showing medieval Welsh craftsmanship. You can still see these carved details today and notice the skill of the stonemasons who created them.

The location is easy to find, though the surrounding graveyards are separate from the church property itself. Checking local signage helps you understand the layout of the different parts of the site.

The church entrance incorporates ancient gravestones from the 9th to 12th centuries built into the doorway structure. These medieval stones create a visible link between different time periods at this sacred site.
