St Catherine's Oratory, Medieval lighthouse on St. Catherine's Down, Isle of Wight, England.

The octagonal stone tower rises 11 meters high on the southern coast of Isle of Wight, featuring four stories and a pyramidal roof.

Walter de Godeton constructed this structure in 1328 as penance after he took wine from a shipwrecked vessel belonging to the Church.

The structure earned the name 'Pepperpot' from local residents due to its particular shape, which resembles a condiment shaker on the dining table.

Visitors can access the lighthouse through a 400-meter walk across fields from the car park, which includes navigation of steep stairs.

This structure stands as Britain's only remaining medieval lighthouse, with only the Roman lighthouse at Dover predating its construction.
