St. Catherine's Lighthouse, Maritime navigation lighthouse at St. Catherine's Point, Isle of Wight, England.
The 27-meter tall white brick lighthouse structure stands on the southernmost point of the Isle of Wight, directing ships through the English Channel.
Trinity House constructed St. Catherine's Lighthouse in 1838 following the loss of The Clarendon vessel on nearby rocks, establishing a crucial maritime safety point.
The Grade II listed building represents British maritime heritage and continues its role in coastal navigation while preserving architectural elements from the 1800s.
Visitors can reach the lighthouse by walking down a steep lane from The Buddle Inn pub, located half a mile away with available parking facilities.
During World War II, a German bomb struck the keeper's cottages, causing three fatalities, and left a permanent mark on the lighthouse lens from shrapnel.
