St Stephen's Church, Brighton, Grade II* listed former church in Montpelier, Brighton, England.
The building features classical architecture with elaborate pilasters and wall paintings, originally designed as a ballroom for Brighton's Georgian-era Castle Inn.
Constructed in 1766 as a ballroom, the structure transformed into St Stephen's Church in 1851 and received consecration on June 11, 1852.
The structure evolved from an exclusive private chapel to a church serving lower-income residents before becoming a center for homeless individuals.
The First Base Day Centre, operated by Brighton Housing Trust, provides services for approximately 100 individuals each day in the former church building.
The building served multiple functions through centuries: a fashionable ballroom, an Anglican church, a center for deaf people, and now a homeless support facility.
