St Mary Magdalen's Church, Brighton, Roman Catholic church in Montpelier district, Brighton, England
The red brick church features Early English and Decorated Gothic architectural elements, including stone dressings, lancet windows, and ornate tracery throughout its structure.
Construction of the church started in 1861 under Father George Oldham's supervision, with the sanctuary completed first and the nave extension following in 1864.
The church maintains four Sunday Mass services, including a Polish Mass and a Traditional Latin Mass, serving different segments of Brighton's Catholic community.
Located at the intersection of Upper North Street and Norfolk Road, the church stands between its presbytery and former primary school building, now used as a hall.
Hugh Gerard McGrellis received the Benemerenti medal from Pope Benedict XVI after serving as an altar server at this church for over 70 years.
