St Mary's Church, Hendon, Grade II* listed church building in Hendon, United Kingdom
The medieval St Mary's Church features English Gothic architecture with a north wall containing Norman details including an arched doorway and original windows.
The church, built around 1080 by Benedictine monks from St Albans Abbey, received significant modifications including a neo-Norman brick tower addition in 1828.
The interior contains numerous funeral hatchments, monuments, and a notable memorial to John Sharpe with a large urn set under an arched baldicchino.
The church provides facilities with step and ramp access, bicycle parking spaces, and stands within 100 meters of public transportation stops.
The building includes an organ chamber added to its north side in 1880, alongside multiple obelisks dedicated to the Grove family adorned with putto heads.
