Sunnycroft, Victorian villa and garden in Wellington, Great Britain
Sunnycroft is a red-brick villa standing at the end of an avenue lined with tall Wellingtonia trees and containing five acres of gardens. The house preserves original Victorian interiors with furnishings, decorations, and personal objects from that era.
The villa was built in 1880 and shows how wealthy families lived during the Victorian era. The property was preserved by the National Trust movement as an example of late-19th-century prosperity and lifestyle.
The rooms tell the stories of people who lived here, including a royal embroiderer and a brewery owner. Their personal belongings and furniture show how a wealthy late-19th-century family shaped their daily lives.
The house opens on selected weekends, and visitors should book in advance through the National Trust website. Fixed paths lead through the rooms and gardens, making it possible to explore the entire property on foot.
Parked in the garage is a rare 1950s Daimler Regency, one of only about 15 surviving examples worldwide. The car shows what valuable possessions the family owned and how they spent their leisure time.
