Stockwell Skatepark, Skatepark in Stockwell, United Kingdom.
Stockwell Skatepark is a concrete facility featuring a wide snake run, multiple bowls, quarterpipes, ledges, and flat sections spread across a large area. The varied elements accommodate both beginners and experienced riders with diverse skating opportunities.
The facility opened in 1978 as part of the early skateparks in Britain designed by Lorne Edwards. Edwards gained recognition for building the nation's first skatepark in Portland, Dorset.
Known locally as Brixton Beach, the park draws skateboarders and BMX riders regularly from across the region. The facility serves as a gathering point for the South London skating community.
The park sits near Brixton Station and is accessible twenty-four hours daily to skateboarders, BMX riders, and rollerskaters at no cost. No entry restrictions or permits are required to use the facility.
The 2022 renovation by Betongpark intentionally incorporated grey and red concrete surfaces that reference earlier color schemes from the park's past decades. This design choice bridges modern usage with visual elements from its previous generations.
