The Transport Museum, Wythall

The Transport Museum houses over 90 buses from various operators, including Midland Red and WMPTE blue and cream vehicles from Birmingham and surrounding areas.

The museum opened in 1978 and has collected transport vehicles from across the West Midlands region, preserving the local transportation heritage for future generations.

Visitors can experience the evolution of public transport through interpretative displays and an introductory video film in the Power Hall, documenting 20th-century developments.

The museum operates from March to October, opening on weekends and bank holidays from 11 am to 4:30 pm, with additional Wednesday openings during school holidays.

This institution maintains the largest collection of battery electric road vehicles in the region, featuring 30 electric milk floats and bread vans from different operators.
