Waterloo Hotel, Georgian hotel in Old Town, Edinburgh, Scotland.
The Waterloo Hotel building features grand Georgian windows, traditional cornices, and a preserved cupola on the eighth floor that illuminates the interior spaces.
Built between 1815 and 1819 by architect Archibald Elliot, the Waterloo Hotel operated until 1898 before transforming into offices for over a century.
The establishment hosted notable events, including a ceremony granting freedom of the city to Earl Grey and a celebration of the abolition of slavery in 1834.
Located near Edinburgh Waverley Station, the hotel contains 148 rooms equipped with modern amenities, an indoor pool, and a fully equipped fitness center.
The property maintains its original cupola from 1819, which previously illuminated a grand ballroom measuring 80 by 40 feet.
