Wentworth Castle is a Grade I listed castle in Stainborough featuring a grand country house with a baroque east wing. The wing contains a 180-foot (55 meter) gallery divided by marble columns with Corinthian capitals.
History
Thomas Wentworth purchased the estate in 1708 and began extensive renovations, engaging military architect Johann von Bodt for the initial design. Building work through the 18th century shaped the property's final appearance.
