Wentworth Castle, Grade I listed castle in Stainborough, England.

The estate features a grand country house with an east baroque wing containing a 180-foot gallery divided by marble Corinthian columns.

Thomas Wentworth purchased Stainborough House in 1708 and initiated extensive renovations, engaging military architect Johann von Bodt for the initial design.

The gardens contain multiple ornamental structures, including Stainborough Castle, a decorative folly built on an Iron Age fort site.

The Northern College for Residential and Community Education currently operates within the castle, which opened to students following its 1948 sale.

The castle grounds showcase a rivalry between cousins, as Thomas Wentworth developed the estate to compete with nearby Wentworth Woodhouse.
