Sir Ralph Eure received permission to fortify his manor house in 1410, establishing the foundation of what became Witton Castle.
The castle grounds integrate architectural elements from the 15th century with modern recreational facilities, reflecting the evolution of English country estates.
The estate functions as a holiday park with accommodation options, including luxury lodges and caravan homes for short and extended stays.
Following a devastating fire in 1796, William Chaytor purchased and restored the castle in 1816, maintaining selected original features while modernizing the interior.
