Harlow Town Park, Grade II listed urban park in Harlow, England
Harlow Town Park is a listed urban park covering over 160 acres with multiple gardens, water features, playgrounds, and recreational spaces. The landscape architect Dame Sylvia Crowe designed the grounds to create diverse areas for different activities and uses.
Dame Sylvia Crowe designed this public space in the mid-twentieth century as part of Harlow's development as a planned town. The site received Grade II listing status from Historic England in August 2020, recognizing its value as a designed landscape.
The Newfoundland Garden brings together Canadian plants and local history in one planted area. This garden connects the town's anniversary with a distant geographical story through its choice of trees and shrubs.
The park has two toilet blocks including a Changing Places facility for people with disabilities, and several council car parks. Accessible pathways connect the different areas, making it easy to move around the grounds.
The Water Garden contains three cascading ponds with a central Pisces sculpture by artist Jesse Watkins. The water feature attracts kingfishers and little egrets that regularly visit this area.
