Moat House

Moat House is a late 16th-century building on Lichfield Street featuring traditional English architectural elements and overlooking the River Tame. The space combines original features with modern facilities for dining and drinks service.

William Comberford constructed the building in 1572 during a period of significant architectural development. Later it served various purposes before being converted into a restaurant.

The building displays Tudor architecture and now operates as a restaurant, showing how historic houses take on new purposes over time. Its location by the river and on a central street makes it a noticeable part of the town.
