Mossman Collection, Horse-drawn carriage museum at Stockwood Discovery Centre, England
The Mossman Collection displays more than 63 historical vehicles, including carriages, landaus, and barouches, representing British transportation evolution from the 1700s to 1900s.
George Mossman collected these carriages while operating his transportation business, and in 1991 the entire collection of 54 vehicles was donated to Luton Museum Service.
The collection contains vehicles from different social classes, from everyday delivery carts to elaborate coaches used by British nobility on their grand estates.
Located at London Road in Luton, the museum opens Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM during summer and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in winter.
The museum holds a chariot used in the film Ben Hur, along with numerous replicas created for productions at Pinewood and Elstree Studios.
