Astbury Hall, Country estate in Chelmarsh, England
Astbury Hall is a country house set on a large estate near Bridgnorth, built in the classical English architectural style. The building features multiple wings and ornately carved stonework that define its refined character.
The original building was destroyed by fire in 1889 and rebuilt in 1891 by Edmund Southwell. Southwell later served as mayor of Bridgnorth.
The estate gained recognition when K.K. Downing, guitarist of the metal band Judas Priest, owned the property from 1985 to 2019.
The estate includes a championship golf course that visitors can use. Access is via the B4555 road south of Bridgnorth.
A £50 million development plan aims to transform the estate into a leisure complex, potentially generating £3.5 million annually for the local economy.
