St Hilda's Church, South Shields, Grade II listed church in South Shields, England

St Hilda's Church stands with cast iron columns supporting interior galleries, featuring a north aisle added in 1753 and rebuilt sections from 1810 to 1881.

The church site traces back to AD 647 when St Aidan established a chapel, which later underwent restoration work in 1675 under Robert Trollope's direction.

The church maintains regular worship schedules with Sunday Mass at 9:30 AM and Evening Prayer on the third Sunday of each month at 6 PM.

The Visitors Centre opens every Saturday from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, providing information about church activities and local history to interested individuals.

A model lifeboat created by William Wouldhave in 1802 hangs from the ceiling, while a Thomas Christopher Lewis organ from 1866 marks his first major work outside London.
