Twist n' Shout, Steel roller coaster in Galston, East Ayrshire, United Kingdom.
Twist n' Shout is a steel roller coaster in Galston featuring a vertical loop and a track spanning approximately 1,800 feet. The ride reaches speeds around 41 miles per hour and rises about 60 feet above the ground.
The roller coaster was manufactured by Schwarzkopf and previously operated at several locations including OK Corral in France and Ocean Beach Amusement Park. It arrived at Loudoun Castle in 2003 and received a mine train theme redesign in 2007.
The ride carries a mine train theme that reflects the industrial history of the Scottish region. Visitors notice this theming in how the train and its surroundings are designed.
Each train accommodates about 24 passengers across six cars with two rows of two seats per car. The ride processes approximately 1,500 passengers per hour, allowing relatively quick movement through the queue during peak times.
This is a Silverarrow model, one of only three that Schwarzkopf ever manufactured. The design shares features with the Scorpion coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, making it part of a very small group of similar rides.
