St Paul's Church, Boughton, Gothic Revival church in Boughton, England
St Paul's Church stands near the River Dee, constructed with red brick, stone dressings, and timber framing, featuring a broach spire at the west end.
The original 1830 Italianate church was replaced in 1876 by architect John Douglas, with additions including a south aisle in 1902 and spire completion in 1905.
The interior displays stenciled wall patterns and contains stained glass windows created by Kempe and Morris & Co, with designs by artists Burne-Jones and Henry Dearle.
The church ceased operations in 2016 due to structural issues and remains closed, while efforts continue to determine potential future uses for the building.
The timber work and wrought iron screen, designed by architect John Douglas himself, demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship within the Grade II* listed structure.
